EXCITING news in the local nursery industry is that Red Leaf Nursery are expanding their services and will be manufacturing their own garden pots on the premises.

A wide variety of garden pots are available, and owners David and Adele Steck will soon be experimenting with different finishes and colours.

“The terracotta pots that used to be available at Red Leaf Nursery have become very expensive to import, and it just made sense to look at manufacturing our own pots,” Adele said. “The opportunity to purchase the business that once belonged to Woodbine Nursery and then to Penny Elliott, became available. Penny used to manufacture the pots under the name Penny’s Garden Art at Wonderland Play Park.”

The business is now situated at Red Leaf Nursery, 91 Alfred Road, Port Alfred. With the expansion of services, Red Leaf Nursery is now able to add to their existing services, which include garden services, mow-and-go, landscaping, irrigation and garden consultation.

Red Leaf Nursery also offer a pot maintenance service, where they will visit your business to maintain the pots at your business. To mark the expansion, on Saturday July 30, the nursery will be having a “dop and pot” workshop. “It does not include weed,” Adele said with a chuckle.
