Ndlambe adheres to criteria

Date:

NDLAMBE Municipality wishes to respond to the article in TotT November 10 edition, “Kenton housing project controversy”.

The Department of Human Settlements, together with Ndlambe Municipality, allocated the houses according to the following criteria: older beneficiaries, people living with disabilities and child-headed households.

We also follow the policy of the department. Kenton is not different.

We still maintain that the contractor is at liberty to employ whoever it wishes to employ.

We are also putting pressure on the company to comply.

We are still working according to the above criteria in allocating houses. There is no such thing as houses being allocated to relatives and friends by the councillor.

People are very happy about the houses and they also understand the issue of electricity and rehabilitation.
