EVERY December Child Welfare organises a group of deserving and underprivileged children to clean up certain areas in town in order to earn a new school uniform for the upcoming academic year.

This year 21 children from poorer families helped clean up streets in Station Hill and Nemato and today, Tuesday January 10, they were rewarded for their effort when St Vincent de Paul society members from the St James Catholic Church and Child Welfare Port Alfred handed out the uniforms and told the children they would be keeping an eye out to ensure they attended school. The uniforms were gratefully accepted.
