War room volunteers awaited training

IT was clear at the war room training session for Wards 5 through 10, held at the Port Alfred Civic Centre on Monday afternoon, that many of the Wards in Ndlambe did not fully understand the purpose and had done little, if any, work in preparation for its implementation.

When war rooms were initiated in November last year under the banner of Operation Masipathisane (carry together) with the intent to resolve residents’ service delivery problems. Yet, without training those attending Monday’s session did not fully understand their new responsibilities.

At the training session tools for tracking problems and monitoring their progress were discussed and many of the questions of the war room committee members were answered.
