Inspirational Insights by Pastor Theo Snyman
THE changing of the seasons is a reminder of the fact that we are living in an ever-changing world.
We have heard that our lives are like the flowers of the field… here today; gone tomorrow! Is everything subject to change, or are there some things that are immutable?
God cannot change! He says, “I the LORD do not change” (Malachi 3:6). The Creator of heaven and earth is perfect in every way. He is holy, righteous and just in all of His ways. “Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne; love and faithfulness go before you” (Psalm 89:14).
Truth cannot change either! The problem today is that we have so many contradictory teachings all proclaiming to be the truth. Not even the majority are necessarily correct. The Lord Jesus said: “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away” (Luke 21:33). The Bible is truth; knowing its contents will set us free!
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever” (Hebrews 13:8). The names and titles given to Jesus are far too numerous to mention here. The declaration of Peter is perhaps the most appropriate for this article. He said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God” (Matthew 16:16).
All roads may lead to Rome, but not all roads lead to heaven! “There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death” (Proverbs 14:12). People follow teachings of their choice for they “seem right” to them, but if they are not based on the truth, they will unfortunately have a rude awakening one day.
Why try to change the immutable? The changes we experience around us cannot change the unchangeable!
