Pre-Easter operations were held today by members of the Joza SAPS from 1pm-6pm, Wednesday. SAPS fined two females aged 25 and 58 with a R1000 fine each for offences relating to the liquor act while a third male aged 25 was detained for possession of dagga and selling beer concoctions.
A total of 200 liters of home brewed concoctions, 15 beer crates and 225 empty 1liter empty bottles were seized as well as 2 kg of brown sugar used to make the concoction.
Two illegal shebeens were raided and more alcohol confiscated. The suspect will appear in the Grahamstown Magistrates Court shortly. Enquiries Captain Mali Govender 0827797123.
