Tuesday night a couple were surprised by a suspect in Sunacres, Seafield, while they were sitting down for a quiet dinner. A man appeared at the door with a knife and after a struggle stabbed both the husband and wife, leaving each of them wounded.
Injuries are non-life-threatening as the husband fought off the attacker who fled empty handed.
The couple had apparently left the door open.
Port Alfred SAPS spokeswoman confirmed that a case of assault GBH (grievous bodily harm) was opened for investigation. No arrests have been made.
