It’s all about exposure, and contrast at Wiles Gallery

The Wiles Gallery was a lit with cheery chatter and beautiful photographs presented by some of Port Alfred, Bathurst and surrounds best photographers.

Curators Cyndi Roodt and her husband Andre Roodt hosted the evening which was well attended by locals and visitors alike. With a slight chill in the air, slipping into the warm and cosy gallery, wine in hand, lent for interesting discussion around guests of Friday evening.

Cyndi said the gallery would like to host more exhibitions and would like to open the floor to any novice, or professionally, photographers to come show of their frames.

Husband and wife team share a love for art in several mediums with photography being just one.

Dan Roodt, a Grade 10 pupil at St Andrews College (verify) included one of the youngest exhibitors for the evening and said the ability to reflect and capture special moments is one of the reasons why he is intrigued with photography. But for now it will be a hobby, he said.

Cyndi said she loved the idea of digital photography, and felt it required a good amount of skill to have new and interesting perspectives and that we now at least have the freedom to play around with angels and frame setups.
