EAST LONDON – Luvuyo Kenneth Montsi (45) was sentenced on Wednesday before the Port Elizabeth Commercial Crime court to eight-years direct imprisonment for Fraud amounting to R2,8 million.
Montsi worked as an agent at a local fresh market company. Under this company he sold fresh produce to customers and got paid by the company on commission basis. However, from July 1, 2014 until April 14, 2015 Montsi received payments from customers and instead of depositing it to the company account he used the money for personal use. The total monetary amount for the Fraud he committed is R2,8 million. Montsi was arrested by the Serious Commercial Crime wing of the Hawks on January 30 this year.
Nicolas Antoniou (48) was arrested by this wing on April 13 last month also for fraud. He allegedly colluded with Montsi with regards to committing this crime. His will reappear before the same court on June 8 ,2017 for a merit consultation with his attorney.
