A firearm stolen at the Peddie Police station break in earlier this year was recovered at a Grahamstown residence.
Members of the Grahamstown Operation Coordinated Committee (OCC) team followed up on information received last Saturday and went to a house in Vukani location Grahamstown.
They found the male suspect inside the house. During a search operation, they found a Lorcin Walter 7.65 with an identifiable serial number and 13 rounds of ammunition.
During further investigations it was established that this firearm was stolen from Peddie police station during a break -in, March 2017.
The suspect, aged 26, was arrested for possession of an unlicensed firearm and possession of ammunition.
He will appear in the Grahamstown Magistrates court early next week.
