Members of an alleged multimillion-rand perlemoen enterprise will stand trial in the Port Elizabeth High Court from today.
Julian Brown, 32, and his co-accused Eugene “Boesman” Victor, 33, and Brandon Turner, 38, face charges which include racketeering.
The trial was due to begin yesterday, but Victor was not before the court as he had been arrested on an unrelated matter.
Brown and Turner were meanwhile ready for their trial to kick off.
While Brown allegedly headed the so-called poaching enterprise, Victor and Turner allegedly worked as his right-hand men.
Each member allegedly had a specific role to play, from fishing, to processing and packaging, to ultimately shipping the product.
