THE old station building in Port Alfred provided the perfect setting for the Kowie History Museum’s tea on Saturday, the Day of Reconciliation.
The quaintness of the surroundings, along with the festive decorations and clothing made this a very pleasant event for anyone wanting to calm themselves after the hectic shopping experience in town (by Port Alfred standard’s, at least), and a chance to cool down and relax.
It also acts to attract visitors and locals to the museum which, in turn, offers a wealth of interesting artefacts and some unique glimpses into our historic past.
Saturday’s Tea (and coffee) Garden was an ideal setting to kick-back and let the world carry on without you for a while and allows visitors to bathe in the nostalgia of a bygone era.
