WITH items like power tools, rugby memorabilia and even a sturdy pair of ladies’ ankle boots u;p for grabs, it was no wonder that the auction, conducted by Hobson and Company’s Paul Mills was a huge success on Friday evening.

Despite the rain falling in buckets, there was plenty to do as visitors flocked to the Ploughman’s pub next door and, eating potjie, waited for the bidding to begin. Lots of great bargains were had on the night, including weekends away, meals and much much more.

Museum president Alan Pike said that there was over R100 000 worth of prizes that had been donated so he was looking forward to a fruitful evening for the museum.
