Bins boost Kowie Museum funds

As the sun set over the Kowie, residents attended the Kowie Museum’s Art Bin auction at Harry B’s on Thursday evening to bid for the 19 bins, decorated by schools, clubs and societies in the area in an effort to raise funds for the museum.

Even the most ardent supporter of the project could not have anticipated the level of support the auction would receive, as bid after bid swelled the museum’s coffers.

With 19 bins up for auction and auctioneer Jeremy Maclachlan from Hobson & Co helping to expertly push up the bidding, the museum raised over R13,000.

More on this story in next week’s Talk of the Town. Out on Thursday and every Thursday.
