Local NSRI assist crewman of crayfish fishing boat

According to Juan Pretorius, NSRI Port Alfred station commander, NSRI Port Alfred duty crew were activated at 12h55 today, following a request for medical assistance from a crayfish fishing boat reporting a 49 year Cape Town crewman onboard suffering stomach cramps and possible dehydration.

NSRI sea rescue craft was launched and they rendezvoused with the fishing boat 22 nautical miles East offshore of Port Alfred.

The patient, in a stable condition, was transferred onto their sea rescue craft and taken to the sea rescue base before being transported to the hospital by EC Government Health EMS ambulance in a stable condition.
