This morning, at 04:05, warrant officer Tertius Neethling and constable Mkhululi Lamani attended to housebreaking in progress in the Bushmansriver area.
On arrival, the complainant gave a description of the suspect and pointed out to members where the suspect was last seen.
Patrol dogs Bonzo and Ounooi were used to search the area. Bonzo immediately picked up the track and proceeded to vehicles at different premises.
Neethling noticed that the vehicles had been broken into. Bonzo continued and approximately 800m further Bonzo apprehended the suspect in a yard.
On further investigation, it was established that the suspect had broken into and attempted to break into four residential premises and three vehicles.
Two pairs of prescription spectacles and three containers of oil was recovered.
The suspect aged in his late teens will appear in the Kenton-on-Sea magistrates court early next week.
