South Africa had 2,237 new Covid-19 coronavirus cases, according to health minister Zweli Mhkize.
There have been a total of 20,206 deaths to date from a total of 749,182 confirmed positive cases with 107,515 from the Eastern Cape. There have been 693,261 recoveries.
With 231479 confirmed cases, Gauteng has the highest number of infections nationwide.
