South Africa had 2,080 new Covid-19 coronavirus cases, according to health minister Zweli Mhkize.
There have been a total of 20,968 deaths to date from a total of 769,759 confirmed positive cases with 118,688 from the Eastern Cape. There have been 711,195 recoveries.
With 233,164 confirmed cases, Gauteng has the highest number of infections nationwide.
