South Africa had 7,882 new Covid-19 coronavirus cases, according to health minister Zweli Mhkize. There have been a total of 23,106 deaths to date from a total of 852,965 confirmed positive cases with 144,830 from the Eastern Cape. There have been 760,118 recoveries. With 242,902 confirmed cases, Gauteng has the highest number of infections nationwide.
