South Africa had 9,501 new Covid-19 coronavirus cases, according to health minister Zweli Mhkize.
There have been a total of 25,246 deaths to date from a total of 940,212 confirmed positive cases with 161,186 from the Eastern Cape. There have been 808,241 recoveries.
With 259,962 confirmed cases, Gauteng has the highest number of infections nationwide.
