Makhanda woman found in shallow grave

Police are investigating a case of murder after the body of Makhanda resident Myrodine Farren May, 28, was found in a shallow grave in the bushes near Dickerson Road on Thursday October 12.

South African Police Service spokesperson Warrant Officer Majola Nkohli said that on Wednesday October 11, around midday, police launched a search and rescue operation after a missing person inquiry was opened at Makhanda SAPS for May.

Her body was found in a shallow grave in a section of open veld above Dickerson Street, Makhanda on Thursday afternoon (October 12). The docket was changed to a murder investigation.

Police are urging anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspect/s to contact the nearest police station. The information may also be shared via Crime Stop on 08600 10111
