YESTERDAY afternoon, December 20, the SAPS received a report of a body found at the Trikwakwa farm in the Seafield area.
On responding to the report, the body of a young boy was found lying next to a farm house.
“It is alleged that the 10-year-old victim left home last Friday with four other boys to attend a traditional ceremony at a nearby farm. There they consumed alcohol and on Saturday morning they headed home. The victim sat down next to an unoccupied farm house promising his friends he would follow them but he did not,” police spokeswoman Captain Mali Govender said.
Today the boy’s grandmother, who he lived with, enquired about the whereabouts of her grandson. The four friends decided to search for him and found him where they left him next to the unoccupied farmhouse.
An inquest docket has been opened for investigation. No foul play suspected at this stage.
