TRAFFIC along the R72, the arterial route through Port Alfred, will be affected until at least November this year according to contracts engineer for Gibb, Wouter du Toit, when he addressed members of the public and other interested parties at the Ski-boat Club on Monday evening.

South African Nation Roads Agency Limited (Sanral) own the R72 and decided some time ago to upgrade the road, from the Great Fish River to Alexandria. Monday’s meeting addressed the section of the R72 that runs from Bathurst Street (Albany Road) to Atherstone Road (Southwell Road).

More on the R72 upgrade meeting in this week’s Talk of the Town.
