Port Alfred gets ready for a new-look mall

SCENES FROM THE NEW-LOOK MALL

RENOVATIONS to Port Alfred’s Heritage Mall are well underway and, despite a little inconvenience to shoppers, the new-look mall should excite locals and visitors alike, encouraging more investment in the town.

Kevin McLoughlin, director of mall owner, Western Gruppe Properties, will be spending R40-million on the upgrade to the mall, one of 15 convenience shopping centres owned by the company all along the Eastern Cape.

“It is a large investment, but one that we feel was necessary,” said McLoughlin. “We needed to bring the mall up to the standards the people of the area deserve.”
