Karate back at the Fish

THE Inaugural Sunshine Coast Karate Open Championships (SCKO) took place at the Fish River Resort where karateka of all ages battled for the right to be crowned champions in both individual kata and kumite, and in novice, intermediate and elite categories.

Organisers of the event, Gary Grapentin and Maureen de Jager, said they were happy to be back with karate and that the Fish River Resort had a special atmosphere. For results and social photographs, see the upcoming edition of Talk of the Town, out on Thursday.
