
Following his success at the recent Build for Better Adaptive South African Surfing Championship held at New Pier in Durban over the weekend of May 18 to 20, local disabled athlete Anton Wiersma has his hopes set to compete in the World Adaptive Games, to be held in San Diego in the USA at the end of the year.
Wiersma competed in the AS2 Men’s kneeboard competition where he outstripped the competition to win the division.
“This should set me up with a place at the world adaptive games,” said Wiersma. However, his place is yet to be confirmed.
