South Africa had 2,140 new Covid-19 coronavirus cases, according to health minister Zweli Mhkize.
There have been a total of 20,011 deaths to date from a total of 742,394 confirmed positive cases with 104,125 from the Eastern Cape. There have been 686,458 recoveries.
With 230834 confirmed cases, Gauteng has the highest number of infections nationwide.
