South Africa had 1,245 new Covid-19 coronavirus cases, according to health minister Zweli Mhkize.
There have been a total of 20,314 deaths to date from a total of 752,269 confirmed positive cases with 108,993 from the Eastern Cape. There have been 695,496 recoveries.
With 231,733 confirmed cases, Gauteng has the highest number of infections nationwide.
