South Africa had 4,173 new Covid-19 coronavirus cases, according to health minister Zweli Mhkize.
There have been a total of 21,709 deaths to date from a total of 796,472 confirmed positive cases with 130,430 from the Eastern Cape. There have been 734,305 recoveries.
With 235,664 confirmed cases, Gauteng has the highest number of infections nationwide.
