South Africa had 4,400 new Covid-19 coronavirus cases, according to health minister Zweli Mhkize.
There have been a total of 21,803 deaths to date from a total of 800,872 confirmed positive cases with 132,149 from the Eastern Cape. There have been 739,367 recoveries.
With 236,086 confirmed cases, Gauteng has the highest number of infections nationwide.
