South Africa had 4,932 new Covid-19 coronavirus cases, according to health minister Zweli Mhkize.
There have been a total of 21,963 deaths to date from a total of 805,804 confirmed positive cases with 134,021 from the Eastern Cape. There have been 740,450 recoveries.
With 236,653 confirmed cases, Gauteng has the highest number of infections nationwide.
