South Africa had 6,709 new Covid-19 coronavirus cases, according to health minister Zweli Mhkize.

There have been a total of 22,574 deaths to date from a total of 828,598 confirmed positive cases with 140,647 from the Eastern Cape. There have been 754,658 recoveries.

With 240,261 confirmed cases, Gauteng has the highest number of infections nationwide.
