South Africa had 10,008 new Covid-19 coronavirus cases, according to health minister Zweli Mhkize.
There have been a total of 23,827 deaths to date from a total of 883,687 confirmed positive cases with 153,085 from the Eastern Cape. There have been 774,858 recoveries.
With 249,181 confirmed cases, Gauteng has the highest number of infections nationwide.
