South Africa had 10,939 new Covid-19 coronavirus cases, according to health minister Zweli Mhkize.
There have been a total of 24,539 deaths to date from a total of 912,477 confirmed positive cases with 157,209 from the Eastern Cape. There have been 787,782 recoveries.
With 254,649 confirmed cases, Gauteng has the highest number of infections nationwide.
