South Africa had 9,445 new Covid-19 coronavirus cases, according to health minister Zweli Mhkize.
There have been a total of 24,691 deaths to date from a total of 921,922 confirmed positive cases with 158,484 from the Eastern Cape. There have been 793,914 recoveries.
With 256,595 confirmed cases, Gauteng has the highest number of infections nationwide.
