South Africa had 14,796 new Covid-19 coronavirus cases, according to health minister Zweli Mhkize.
There have been a total of 26,276 deaths to date from a total of 983,359 confirmed positive cases with 165,022 from the Eastern Cape. There have been 830,251 recoveries.
With 269,889 confirmed cases, Gauteng has the highest number of infections nationwide.
