South Africa had 11,552 new Covid-19 coronavirus cases, according to health minister Zweli Mhkize.
There have been a total of 26,521 deaths to date from a total of 994,911 confirmed positive cases with 165,988 from the Eastern Cape. There have been 839,194 recoveries.
With 272,504 confirmed cases, Gauteng has the highest number of infections nationwide.
