South Africa had 9,010 new Covid-19 coronavirus cases, according to health minister Zweli Mhkize.
There have been a total of 37,449 deaths to date from a total of 1,346,936 confirmed positive cases with 187,171 from the Eastern Cape. There have been 1,117,452 recoveries.
With 364,269 confirmed cases, Gauteng has the highest number of infections nationwide.
