South Africa had 9,780 new Covid-19 coronavirus cases, according to health minister Zweli Mhkize.
There have been a total of 38,288 deaths to date from a total of 1,356,716 confirmed positive cases with 187,552 from the Eastern Cape. There have been 1,144,857 recoveries.
With 366,432 confirmed cases, Gauteng has the highest number of infections nationwide.
