LATE last year former Ndlambe mayor, Sipho Tandani, partnered with local plumber, Guy Snyman, to abstract seawater from Shelly Beach, between Kelly’s Beach and Flame Lily.
The business they formed, PA Beverages, was sanctioned by the Eastern Cape department of economic development, environmental affairs and tourism (Dedeat).
Bottled seawater is in demand, with many cultures in South Africa believing that bathing in it or even drinking it (bearing in mind the high salt content can cause other health issues) can help to rid the body of toxins and improving health.
Recently the company has hit it big by being featured on BBC World’s Africa Business Report.
