Jed Thurgood arrived ready and excited for his first day of ‘big school’ at Port Alfred High accompanied by his mum, Lindy Hulley, who is a past pupil. Jed’s grandparents are Linda and Peter Hulley who both served our school as secretary and Standard 4 teacher for many years
MENTORSHIP MATTERS: PAHS deputy head girl, Kayla Le Roux, middle, met her Grade 8 mentees, Lisé-Mari Coetzee, left, and Chloe Vermeulen at the orientation day on Tuesday January 16. Each matric has been assigned one or two Grade 8 pupils and is responsible for supporting their mentees for the rest of the year. At the end of each term, a report will be written by the matric and sent to the mentee’s parents. Deputy headmaster Dr Ian Knott-Craig encouraged all Grade 8s to make full use of this opportunity to learn from a peer and challenged the Grade 12s to be true leaders
