South Africa had 2,295 new Covid-19 coronavirus cases, according to health minister Zweli Mhkize.
There have been a total of 21,644 deaths to date from a total of 792,299 confirmed positive cases with 128,889 from the Eastern Cape. There have been 732,531 recoveries.
With 235,193 confirmed cases, Gauteng has the highest number of infections nationwide.
