Thursday January 22, 9.30am – Joe Alfers will present “Rock Art in Lesotho”. Joe Alfers is a photographer, and has been active in the fields of newspaper, social documentary, industrial and technical photography, spanning the analogue and digital eras. Appointed as the Field Team Leader for Project ARAL, a research and documentation project in the Kingdom of Lesotho, he developed an innovative system to efficiently document photographically the rock paintings of the Baroa hunter-gatherers, resulting in one of the largest collections of rock painting images in Africa. Please hand in your membership fee (R50 single, R80 for a couple) in an envelope with your name, email address, and phone number(s) on the front when you get to the meeting. Alternatively, you can pay by EFT and hand in the proof of payment with the same details added. The bank account details are unchanged from last year.
