Albany Vintage and Classic Motor Club Museum opens on the last Saturday of each month – 9am-12 noon – Hawkins Industrial Park, Alfred Road, Port Alfred.

Alzheimer SA East Cape Support Group meets the last Thursday of each month at 3pm at Brookshaw Home at 9 Donkin Street, Grahamstown. The Support Group is for family, friends and caregivers of those with Alzheimer’s Disease or any form of Dementia. There is usually a speaker followed by discussion and tea. Contact Dr Heather Rauch 081-350-8079 for information and to get on to our mailing list.

Kleinemonde Morning Market on the first Saturday of every month, from 8.30 to 10am. OD Inggs Memorial Run. The run will pass through the Albany District with competitors navigating a route comprising 306km on the first day and 110km on the second. Cars will gather at Rosehill Mall for scrutineering and start departing at 9.30am. The starting point on Sunday will also be Rosehill Mall at 9am. Cars will be on display during the prize giving lunch at the Port Alfred Ski-boat Club.

Sunday March 17

Port Alfred Pick Up, presented by Stenden Commuden. Meet outside Civic Centre at 9am. Help reduce the trash around town. Bags and gloves provided. Pancakes, boerewors rolls and drinks for sale.

Wednesday March 20

Diaz Cross Bird Club Quiz. Our talk will be replaced by a bird quiz to be held at the Port Alfred Presbyterian Church at 7pm for 7.30pm. The quiz will be run by Tim Cockcroft and should be a thoroughly entertaining and educational evening. You can use this opportunity to improve you bird identification knowledge in a really fun way.

Lower Albany Historical Society AGM – 9.30am – Don Powis Hall, Settlers Park. After the business of the AGM, Professor Pat Irwin will present a talk entitled “The Battle of Grahamstown, April 22 1819”. The topic is particularly relevant since we are approaching the 200th anniversary of the battle. All welcome.
