Party next weekend on the banks of the Kowie River
BIRTHDAY time has come around for Barmuda Restaurant and Cocktail Lounge which will be celebrating its sixth year, next weekend June 3 and 4, as the hottest entertainment venue in Port Alfred.
Throughout the years Barmuda has thrived on providing an impressive list of top South African musicians and bands such as Zebra & Giraffe, the Parlotones, GoodLuck, Napalma, Veranda Panda, Gangs of Ballet, Black Cat Bone, DJ Fresh, PH Fat to mention but a few – and now it also includes a popular gaming area.
Barmuda continues to be a popular destination for friends and families, whether they’re there to have a relaxing cocktail along side the Kowie River or for great food including gourmet burgers, nachos, beer-battered fish and much more.
It is the atmosphere and vibrancy of Barmuda which makes it a place for everyone to enjoy and feel welcome. “We serve soul food,” said proprietor Kaine Charter. “Our portions are large and satisfying.”
Barmuda is not just for a relaxing afternoon on the river bank or for enjoying the delicious items on the menu. It is also the number one venue for patrons who flock there for excellent local entertainment events. The venue is also host to some of Port Alfred’s most popular events such as the Universities Boat Race Festival and Anything that Floats.
Charter agreed that the standard of entertainment on offer at Barmuda, with local, national and even international acts performing there on a regular basis, had much to do with its success.

There will also be live music from DJs on the Friday and Saturday, as well as the always popular 2-4-1 Sunday cocktail special, their delicious menu and the gaming area.
