THE body of a severely beaten woman was found close to the R72 in the morning of Wednesday March 1 and, following an intense investigation by SAPS a 37-year-old man was arrested.
The man, whose identity is currently withheld, made a brief appearance in the Kenton Magistrate’s Court facing charges of murder has been remanded in custody until his next appearance on March 16 for a possible bail application.
The victim has been identified as 
Nomfundo Patricia Bloom, aged 33, from East London. She has two young children. The motive for the killing is still being investigated.
