TWO vehicles reported stolen last month, have been impounded by the Grahamstown OCC (Operational Coordination Centre) task team while they were conducting patrols on the N2.
Police saw a white Mitsubishi Colt bakkie parked at the Pop Inn and, on checking the vehicle the system reflected that it has been stolen in April this year from Walmer in Port Elizabeth.
While the vehicle was being towed to the vehicle pound, the members following the breakdown vehicle noticed a 1400 Nissan bakkie on the N2 next to the road opposite the Salem crossing.
They stopped and tested the chassis number and the results reflected the vehicle was being sought on a Mount Road case and had also been reported stolen in April this year.
The value of the vehicles recovered amounts to R135 000. No arrests have been made.
