EC:Port Alfred Cluster: Alexandria 2017-06-11
Whilst a complainant was reporting his vehicle stolen, members in the community service immediately did a temporary circulation of the vehicle alerting and mobilising all SAPS members within the cluster as well as emergency services. Intense high visibility patrols were conducted on the R72 and the residential areas in Alexandria. Within a short space of time, the vehicle was spotted and found abandoned in Kwanonqubela. No arrests have been made. As soon as the complainant was made aware that his vehicle was recovered, he indicated that he did not want to continue with a criminal case. Port Alfred Cluster Commander Brigadier Morgan Govender praised all the members and services involved shortly after the incident:” Teamwork can only yield positive results. The commitment and dedication shown by our cluster on a daily basis have certainly enhanced our service delivery to the community. Continue to serve with pride and dignity.”
