An unnamed MultiSecurity reaction officer said he had seen the CCTV footage and witnessed two men casually walking around in the mall. As soon as the G4S guard left the store the two robbers confronted him with guns and ran off with the money.

Panther Farm Security and MultiSecurity quickly recovered the “escape car”, a silver Corsa bakkie on the Southwell (farm) Road. The vehicle was discovered about 200m up the road, out of sight, and had been stripped of its number plates.

A Hi-Tech security guard at the mall confirmed that he had seen the two men “window shop”.

More bystanders told TotT they saw two men running out the mall and speeding off with the bakkie which had been parked at the front entrance, near the pedestrian crossing.
