
THIS week, Talk of the Town’s web-poll asked how people were being compensated for working overtime.
With just 33 votes cast in total, 10 voters (or 30% or respondents) answered they get time off in lieu of time worked.
There were eight respondents (24%) who said the business they work for provided no compensation for overtime, while six (18%) replied they were self-employed.
Four respondents (12%) voted they were paid according to the rate determined by the Basic Conditions of Employment Act.
Four respondents (12%) answered they were never required to work overtime.
Just one voter (3%) said they receive an annual bonus and performance-based bonus.
